Cupertino can't be beat. No nags, just honest
free-ware. Although the author seems to have abandoned this nice little
program, I use it every week to update my site. For a free program, this
is very good. |

I collect a lot of graphics. So much in fact, that I loose them. I am
constantly looking at my graphics files to see if I already have what I need
for this project or that. I have come to rely on the ACDSee graphic
viewer. This won't give you any editing capability, it's just a fast
and easy to use viewer. Rather than tie up your computer trying to display
all your graphics at once, ACDSee will let you flip through your pictures
one at a time. You can view full size, or reduced. ACDSee even includes
a very handy move/copy file utility. This is available in a 16 bit version
for Windows 3.1, and a 32 bit version for Windows 95, and 98. This is Shareware.
Use it free for a limited time, then pay the registration fee.

AOLpress 2.0 A good "what you see is what you
get" editor to help you get started. Most of my pages at least start
in AOLpress. There is no official support for this any more, their
web site is closed down. AOLpress doesn't support Cascaded Style Sheets or
Java scripts , and in fact may identify your scripts as errors in html and
try to correct them. AOLpress only shows the first frame of an animated gif;
but when viewing the page with a browser, the gif will be animated. AOLpress
has a built in spell checker, and the tools you need to make image maps.
AOLpress makes it easy to create tables, insert graphics, make links, even
make pages with frames. Everything is done with menus and tool buttons. It
includes a tool for viewing and editing the html code directly within AOLpress.
You can go back and forth between "what you see is what you get" mode and
the code editor at any time. It saves your work as HTML, not some special
proprietary format. All in all it's pretty good for straight HTML.

Bejeweled is a fun shareware game. You can plat it one hundred
times for free, then it will cost you twenty bucks. This is a lot
of fun. Move jewels to adjacent squares to make three or more in a row, then
that string disappears while new jewels move into place. You are not playing
against a clock. As you clear jewels from the board, you gain
points.

This Tetris is a freeware version of the well known game. Easy
to play, simple, easy on the eyes. Program provided as a promotional item
by Crystal Office Systems and given away free.

Well, David Bernazzani has put together a fully programmable scientific
calculator and a suite of solitaire games. These are his own personal creations,
and they are heads above others. Solitude is a bunch of solitaire
games in a package. You may have heard of some of these games, but maybe
not all of them. Once you try a few out, you'll find one you really like.
Excalibur is a full function, fully programmable, RPN scientific
calculator. This does it all, and has so much flexibility you can set it
up to just show the functions you want or even create your own functions.
